In Greek mythology, Atlas was a Titan condemned to bearing the weight of the heavens as punishment for leading the great battle against the Olympians.

The name “Jane” is often used to feminize a traditionally or otherwise masculine concept or character, i.e., Indiana Jones vs. Indiana Jane. It’s also a frequent character name used in both classic and modern fiction, and the name of a very famous British writer – Jane Austen.

“Atlas and Jane” combines these concepts to represent Atlas bearing the weight of the stories of the world and Jane as the writer transcribing them.
